QuickVet Practice Management SoftwareNews
QuickVet sales and support are our primary business activities. Vetsone has been selling and supporting the QuickVet software in Australia since 1998. The QuickVet software is provided to us by BWCI, a US programming company based in Delaware. We are looking forward working with them in the future with our joint commitment to providing reliable, easy to use software for any type of practice. To see more details about the features of QuickVet visit the AHMS pages on the BWC website. The entire AHMS software is exactly the same as QuickVet with the exception of the name. QuickVet is installed in clinics all around Australia and we are committed to providing software support and hardware services to these clinics. For the past 5 years our preferred mode of installation for QuickVet has been to utilise a Terminal Server with a range of connected Thin Client workstations. These are generally Windows PCs but they can just as easily be Linux PCs, Macs or simple Think Client devices with no moving parts at all in them(dumb terminals). We have been assisting our users to upgrade their aging hardware to adopt the Terminal Server approach, thus dramatically improving the speed and reliability of the software, simplifying the addition of new terminals and allowing easy remote access to the QuickVet software from home or branch. The latest update to the present QuickVet software interface is now available to 2003/2008 Terminal Server and will be installed remotely to clinics in order of demand. Any clinic that does not have a 2003 or 2008 Server would be well advised to obtain one and we can assist you with ordering a suitable server from DELL on request, they usually arrive 7-10 days after ordering them. Starting in 2010 we will be releasing a major software upgrade for supported QuickVet customers who have a Terminal Server. This upgrade will not be available to clinics with a peer to peer network OR no internet access. This major software upgrade will be available at no cost to our "supported" customers. For the purpose of determining whether a user is "supported" we will assume that all support has lapsed once a payment is more than 30 days overdue. Customers who have allowed this to occur at any time after 1/1/2010 will be deemed to have NO upgrade entitlement to this major upgrade when it is available. During 2012 we hope to start installing the very latest version of QuickVet utilising the .NET framework storing the data in MS SQL Server. We now believe that for many of our Australian customers there will be NO additional cost involved in the upgrade to the QuickVet SQL software when it is available. This will depend on the actual size of the database in each clinic and whether the MS SQL Express database server(which is free) will handle the workload adequately. Generally speaking, for 5-6 terminals it should be more than adequate.
